| IT'S WAS CLOSE! VERY CLOSE! Alas, I had an epiphany, thus extending the development time QQ. So what does this mean? It means I need to develop a version control system; the initial site will not go live with it... But it needs to be there. So anyway, as usual, here’s the update. Spent a good 6 hours or so writing SQL code to restructure how I will control the rants in our DB. This in turn will mean I will be fixing up existing code to work with the new system. This morning I got the Rant creation and editing completed to perfection, however due to the change a little bit of testing and fiddling will be required to make sure it don’t break. Rants are now based on versions. This means every time a rant is edited in our DB, a new version of the rant is saved rather than modifying the original version. This is transparent to the users and frankly you won’t even know its there… I have not even begun development on the rant comment system. While the site can go online without it, it wont. The good news is that this feature wont take me long to develop. And once all this crap and I’m sure many other things are done… we have a new Teamfrouse to play with. All in all… I estimate, perhaps this Friday at the earliest (but I said that last week) or sometime next week. Check out tomorrows update to see how I’m going. I don’t foresee any new obstacles or changes. |

| Pretty much all is well with the system now! Alas, there is still some time before my release due to various testing and development that needs to be completed. All in all I have the following to complete... UI and various features/security/permissions on the create rant page, Approve rants page, edit rants page... then testing, bug fixes, and release. Backend management can wait. | ||

| Despite what I said yesterday about not having a release by ahh today now... Things are looking quite good! There might not be a full rant submission system online, but I should be able to bring the site back up! Once I have the site up and im happy with how it works (i.e. BUG FREE) I'll transfer it over to a full AJAX design to allow for some serious new features. | ||

Sigh... TeamFrouse.com 9490 lines of code and counting... Did a DB overhaul today, currently working on the permissions system... Slow stuff! I'm determined to get it right this time, so my Thursday release is now impossible... Friday, unlikely... worst case sometime next week for sure! KEEP CHECKING THE SITE! I "May" do a visual release of the system, however all rant creation functionality will be removed. The usual frousers, you know who you are... You will all have admin access to the new site. |

Work is going well, simply working on the administration of the rants just to get the site running initially. I will develop a full admin system later. I expect the first test site to be online Thursday at the earliest, or Friday night at the latest! From there on i will continue to develop features for the site on a regular basis, as long as you keep writing rants and getting your friends to join up!!! Once the rants section is decent, I will begin development on NicePark |
